Intraoral Biopsies
Just like any other part of the body, when we notice any mouth or lips lumps, bumps or discolouration we become concerned. To determine whether these lesions are benign or malignant, we perform an intraoral biopsy.
An intraoral biopsy is done in the office using regular dental anaesthesia to numb the area. A small piece of tissue from the area of concern is surgically removed. It will then be microscopically examined by an oral pathologist to determine if the growth/lesion is benign or malignant.
